Client: Stow Away

Sector: Hospitality

The Development:

Stow-Away is a new sustainable and eco-friendly boutique apart hotel concept. Stow-Away Waterloo is the company’s first London base made from 26 re-purposed shipping containers, stylishly designed to provide a snug sleeping experience.

Our Role:

The Tudor Door Company supplied and installed internal and external doors for the apartment and restaurant, which included communal and external areas (outer gate). The Design concept for stow- away waterloo was to produce a fully functional apart hotel from shipping containers. The Tudor Door Company was able to accommodate with a door design built to work cohesively with the concept.

The external doors supplied by Tudor Door Company were made of steel to complement the scheme’s unique design concept. Each door was certified by ‘Secured by Design’– the flagship initiative launched by the UK’s police to ‘design out crime’ through high-quality security products and initiatives.

The specification requested for a 55 dB sound reduction, air tightness and bespoke locking system. Therefore, the doors were fitted with Salto access control system, which enables the use of mobile phone, card and keypad to access the property. A third party tested and certified all external doors, to guarantee the performance was above the necessary requirements.

Tudor also supplied gates and doors for the project, surrounding the premises by installing bespoke q-rail steel-wire mesh stainless steel doors.
