Tudor Set to Open New Doors at 100% Design

The Tudor Door Company will be showcasing its extensive range of internal doors at the 100% design show, the UK’s largest and longest-running design trade event.

This is the second time Tudor has exhibited at the show, which celebrates British and global design.

The team will be displaying a variety of product ranges and finishes, spanning from veneered doors and tough laminates through to high-specification doorsets supplied complete with matching frames and architraves.

To mark Tudor’s appearance at the show, visitors will also be offered a discount on select products.

Tudor Product Range Showcased in New Catalogue

The Tudor Door Company has launched a brand-new catalogue showcasing its vast range of internal and external doors.

Featuring striking imagery, the catalogue details the different types of products and finishes available to customers across the residential, commercial, leisure, education sectors, as well as personal needs.

All Tudor doors are designed and manufactured by its in-house team and can be supplied in a variety of different sizes to meet specific fire, acoustic, and security requirements.

We’re looking for enthusiastic candidates to join our Tudor Door team to work in the fields of contracting. The role will involve providing technical expertise in a customer-facing, delivery-focused environment as well as assisting with the preparation of bids, quotations and orders on a regular basis.

Job Spec

  • Respond to customer telephone enquiries – both sales &technical.
  • Create detailed quotations aligned with our capabilities andcustomer specifications.
  • Maintain contact with some of our key customer accounts.
  • Managing and interpreting customer requirements – listeningto clients and using astute questioning to understand, anticipate and exceedtheir needs.
  • Recording and maintaining client contact data on ourdatabase.
  • Become proficient in specifying door set systems to a broadcustomer base

Secured by Design and member companies feature at International Security Expo 2018

Secured by Design (SBD), the national police crime prevention initiative, had a continual flow of visitors to their stand throughout the 2018 International Security Expo at Olympia London on Wednesday28 and Thursday 29 November.

SBD was among the many exhibitors at the flagship security show, which attracted over 350+ exhibitors, 1000+ product launches, and over 12,500 international buyers and influencers from Government, CNI, Law Enforcement, Military, Major Events, Transport & Borders, Cyber Security, Facilities and Public and Private sectors.

SBD’s stand attracted a lot of interest, with a steady stream of visitors to the stand wanting to find about SBD’s coveted Police Preferred Specification, as well as the security, safety and crime prevention work which SBD is involved in across a range of sectors.12

SBD is a police-owned organisation that works on behalf of the Police Service throughout the UK to deliver a wide range of crime prevention and demand reduction initiatives.

SBD have many partner organisations, ranging from the Home Office, Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government and the Police Service through to local authorities, housing associations, developers and manufacturers and work closely with standards and certification bodies to ensure that their publicly available standards actually meet the needs of the police and public alike.

Products must be subjected to vigorous testing and auditing by an accredited third party organisation before being allowed to carry the SBD logo – this is the only way for companies to obtain police accreditation for security related products in the UK.

A number of SBD member companies were at the Expo, including Burton Safes, CLD Fencing Systems, Dormakaha, ERA Home Security, Frontier Pitts, Gallagher Security, HERAS, Jacksons Fencing, Meesons A.I, Lochrin Bain, Selectaglaze, Selectamark & Warrior Doors.


Earlier this year the Metropolitan Police informed the government that a composite fire door installed at Grenfell Tower designed to resist fire for up to 30 minutes failed after approximately 15 minutes when tested by the police. The Housing Secretary has reviewed this and has now updated Parliament on the fire door investigation and confirms experts advise the risk to public safety remains low:

With the Grenfell Inquiry opening this week, Tudor will be closely monitoring the progress and will publish updates as issued to keep our clients informed.

Fire safety will always be of paramount importance to Tudor door, which is why our fire door assemblies are third-party accredited.


The National Fire Chiefs Council has advised that the risk to public safety is low.

In the event of a fire, people should follow existing fire procedures for the building.

Residents should also test their smoke alarms regularly to ensure they work and ensure that their flat front door is fitted with a working self-closing device.

All doors provide essential protection in a fire if they are properly closed.

The BWF-Certifire Fire Door and Doorsets Scheme

The BWF-Certifire Fire Door and Doorset Scheme, established by the fire door manufacturing industry,

aims to promote the importance of using the third party certificated fire doors and components as a critical part of any passive fire plan.

Regular testing and assessment of fire doors and components are necessary to ensure that products will perform in the event of a fire.

Scheme members operate strict audited manufacturing control and supply systems and regularly fire test their products to ensure that they will perform if a fire breaks out. The audit ensures that processes are robust and effective training is in place to minimise risk.

The Scheme offers clear and simple methods of tracing a fire door and its components throughout the entire fire door chain.
